Dr. Tangayi Githu

Dr. Tangayi Githu

Advisor

Chief of Radiology at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. He specializes in Pediatric Radiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Pediatric Ultrasound, and Adult Emergency Imaging. He completed his fellowship in Pediatric Radiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. His academic foundation includes multiple bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and Applied Mathematics from the University of Minnesota, reflecting his unique blend of medical expertise and technical innovation. As a physician-leader, Dr. Githu is committed to advancing imaging protocols, improving patient care, and fostering mentorship within the medical community. His interests extend to health informatics, medical education, and the integration of technology in clinical practice.

Dr. Melanie Sion

Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine and lead for the Global Surgery Faculty Network at the Yale Institute for Global Health. She specializes in General Surgery, Trauma & Surgical Critical Care, Global Surgical Systems, and Health Equity. She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her surgical residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Her distinguished professional foundation includes being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and an International Fellow of the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA), reflecting her unique blend of elite academic surgery and frontline global health leadership. As a physician-leader, Dr. Sion is committed to advancing surgical systems in low-resource settings, driving health equity, and fostering international surgical education. Her interests extend to surgical data optimization, global health policy, and the integration of clinical research into practical healthcare delivery.

Dr. Tatenda Mujeni

Dr. Tatenda Mujeni

Advisor

Doctorate in Public Health from Harvard University and a Master of Public Health from Columbia University. She has over ten years of experience leading health systems strengthening and resilience initiatives across more than 15 countries in Africa. Dr. Mujeni also has extensive experience leading and supporting malaria and infectious disease prevention and control programs in over 100 communities across Africa. Across all her initiatives, she is committed to advancing equitable, sustainable, and community-centered health systems that expand access and improve health outcomes for underserved populations.

Prof. Tsungai Chipato

Prof. Tsungai Chipato

Principal Investigator for the University of Zimbabwe–University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Collaborative Research Program and holder of a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as a Professor in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit at the University of Zimbabwe and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG). He specializes in Obstetrics, Gynecology, Clinical Epidemiology, and HIV Prevention, with foundational medical training (MBChB) from the United Kingdom. His distinguished career across three continents reflects a unique blend of clinical authority, pioneering research, and global public health innovation. As a physician-leader and distinguished researcher, Prof. Chipato is committed to advancing clinical research methodologies, shaping global health policy, and fostering the next generation of medical practitioners. His interests extend to international clinical trial networks, health data standardization, and the integration of epidemiological rigor into healthcare delivery.
